Rhum J.M 10 Year Old Rhum Agricole Vieux
Rhum J.M · Distillerie J.M
Distillerie J.M sits on the volcanic slopes of Mont Pelée where sugarcane is pressed fresh and fermented with wild yeasts. At ten years, the raw agricole power has been tempered by tropical aging into something poised and layered — a rhum that never forgets its cane origins but has learned patience.
Nose
Tropical fruits — ripe mango and banana — open alongside a distinctly grassy agricole character. Vanilla and dried fruit from the oak aging follow, with a streak of coffee and a faint tobacco leaf note developing over time.
Palate
Medium to full bodied, with caramel and toffee providing a sweet base that is immediately checked by earthy, vegetal agricole funk. The tropical fruit from the nose carries through, joined by dried fruit and a hint of dark chocolate. Oak provides structure without heaviness.
Finish
Long and complex, with lingering coffee, vanilla, and a final note of citrus peel. The agricole grassiness persists, keeping the finish from becoming overly sweet.
- Base Ingredient
- Fresh pressed sugarcane juice (vesou)
- Distillation
- Single column Creole still distillation
- Country
- Martinique, France
Food Pairing
The rhum's tropical fruit character and toffee notes dovetail with caramelized pineapple, while its agricole backbone and citrus finish cut through the sweetness of the brown sugar glaze.
Nestled at the foot of Martinique's Mont Pelée volcano, Distillerie J.M has produced rhum agricole from estate-grown sugarcane since 1845, using volcanic spring water and a single copper Creole column still.

Glendronach 21 Year Old Parliament
GlenDronach
Parliament earns its name through the gravity and deliberation of two decades in oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. This is GlenDronach at its most authoritative — sherry-forward without sweetness fatigue, and layered enough to reward an hour of slow sipping.

Capreolus Damson Eau de Vie Gin
Capreolus
Barney Wilczak's one-man distillery applies the logic of eau de vie — capture fruit in its purest form — to gin production. The result is a gin with unusual depth and texture, where the base spirit is a feature, not an afterthought. Distinctive without being eccentric.

Tierra Noble Blanco Tequila
Tierra Noble
Tierra Noble's blanco delivers a textbook expression of well-cooked lowland agave without any additives muddying the picture. It is pure, approachable, and honest — the kind of tequila that reminds you why blanco can be the most revealing category.

Trois Rivières Cuvée du Moulin Rhum Agricole Vieux
Trois Rivières
Trois Rivières' Cuvée du Moulin honors the heritage of the estate's original sugar mill. The aging in French and American oak rounds the agricole funk into something sophisticated, but the grassy, cane-juice DNA remains intact. It's a contemplative sipper that bridges the gap between fresh agricole and more structured aged expressions.

Havana Club Selección de Maestros
Havana Club
A masterclass in editorial restraint. Where many premium rums crowd the glass with sweetness, Selección de Maestros trusts the silences — the negative space between notes is where its sophistication lives. Essential for drinkers who mistake Cuban rum for merely 'light.'

Ron del Barrilito Four Star Rum
Ron del Barrilito
Ron del Barrilito predates most of the Caribbean rum brands that line your local shelves, yet it remains almost unknown outside Puerto Rico. The Four Star expression, aged in ex-sherry casks for up to a decade, is a rum of genuine sophistication — nuanced, dry-leaning, and built for contemplation rather than cocktails. A reminder that some of rum's finest stories are told in whispers.

El Dorado Single Still Enmore 1996
El Dorado
A monumental single-still Demerara that showcases the Enmore wooden Coffey still at its most articulate — dense, aromatic, and quietly ferocious. Essential for serious rum collectors seeking the true character of Guyana's heritage stills.
