ArteNOM · Tequila el Pandillo (NOM 1549)

80 proofUnagedHighlands (Los Altos), Jalisco, Mexico
ArteNOM's 1549 expression captures the highlands terroir in a way that feels unmanipulated and direct. This is agave-forward blanco with no need for embellishment, demonstrating what additive-free production and careful distillation can achieve at a fair price.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Bright and aromatic with cooked agave front and center, surrounded by white pepper, citrus blossom, and a grassy, herbaceous freshness. A mineral undercurrent gives it a sense of place.

Palate

Clean and focused. Cooked agave sweetness gives way to grapefruit pith and a light peppery heat. The midpalate reveals a delicate floral quality—almost like lavender water—before the mineral earthiness returns.

Finish

Crisp and moderately long, with lingering white pepper and a clean agave echo.

The Story

ArteNOM is the vision of Grover Sanschagrin, who spent years identifying master distillers across Jalisco's distinct terroirs, bottling each NOM separately to showcase how origin shapes agave character.
