Foursquare Redoutable Exceptional Cask Selection
Foursquare · Foursquare Distillery
Richard Seale's Exceptional Cask Selection series is the benchmark for aged Barbadian rum, and the 14-year Redoutable is among the finest entries. The blend of pot and column distillate, matured entirely in ex-bourbon and ex-Madeira casks, achieves a complexity that rivals premium single malt Scotch. Cask strength and additive-free — this is rum at its most honest.
Nose
Immediately rich and layered: toffee, roasted coffee beans, and dark chocolate lead, followed by dried tropical fruits and a deep oakiness. A secondary wave brings tobacco leaf and a hint of orange zest.
Palate
Full-bodied and remarkably smooth for its proof. Molasses and vanilla create a sweet foundation, but cask influence adds roasted oak, leather, and espresso bitterness that keeps everything balanced. Mid-palate, tropical fruit and coconut cream emerge, adding welcome brightness.
Finish
Immensely long, with toffee, tobacco, and a final burst of dried fruit that refuses to leave.

Tullamore D.E.W. XO Caribbean Rum Cask Finish
Tullamore D.E.W.
This is a cask finish that actually earns its secondary maturation. The demerara rum barrels add genuine complexity rather than mere sweetness, and the underlying triple-distilled blend has enough structure to hold it together. At this price, it's one of Irish whiskey's better-kept secrets.

Audemus Pink Pepper Gin
Audemus
Audemus approaches gin-making with a Cognac distiller's patience, using individual botanical macerations and vacuum distillation to capture precise flavors. The pink pepper is the star, but it's the supporting cast—restrained juniper, floral notes, earthy angelica—that makes this gin genuinely compelling. A bartender's gin that also stands tall on its own.

Transcontinental Rum Line Jamaica WP 2016
Transcontinental Rum Line
The Transcontinental Rum Line series, curated by La Maison du Whisky, offers some of the most transparent independent rum bottlings available. This Worthy Park 2016 captures Jamaica's high-ester tradition with enough age to smooth the edges while preserving the funk. It's a seam between wildness and refinement.

El Tequileño Platinum
El Tequileño
A masterclass in blending — El Tequileño Platinum proves that joinery between young and rested tequila, done with restraint, can yield something greater than either part alone. A versatile, food-friendly pour that punches well above its price.

Rhum Clément Cuvée Homère Rhum Agricole Vieux
Rhum Clément
Cuvée Homère is Clément's tribute to founder Homère Clément, and it showcases what extended aging does to quality rhum agricole. The cane character remains at the foundation, but the oak and oxidative aging add layers that rival fine cognac in complexity. This is a sipping rum that demands — and rewards — your full attention.

Hampden Estate Aged 5 Years Single Jamaican Rum
Hampden Estate
The 5-Year expression sits in Hampden's sweet spot — enough age to integrate the distillery's famously high ester count, but young enough to preserve the raw tropical intensity. This is rum for people who want flavor with conviction. It rewards attention and handles mixing with authority.

Clairin Communal Le Rocher
Clairin
Clairin Le Rocher is fermented with wild yeast, distilled from fresh sugarcane juice on rudimentary equipment, and bottled without adjustment. The result is one of the most expressive unaged cane spirits in the world. It's raw, complex, and utterly unlike anything from the industrial rum world—a direct transmission of terroir.
