Domaine Skouras Moscofilero 2023

Domaine Skouras

Mantinia, Peloponnese, Greece
Moscofilero is one of Greece's most distinctive white grapes, and Skouras' version is a textbook expression — aromatic, lively, and bone-dry. The high-altitude Mantinia plateau gives the wine a nerviness that keeps it energized despite its gentle body. An ideal warm-weather pour that punches well above its price.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Lifted floral rose petal and fresh-cut grass announce a distinctly aromatic style, with citrus blossom and a subtle green apple crispness underneath. There's a faint mineral note that suggests the high-altitude vineyard origins.

Palate

Light-bodied and refreshing, with tart citrus and gooseberry driving the entry. The midpalate opens into honeydew melon and delicate violet, held taut by bright acidity. Clean and precisely structured.

Finish

Short to medium, finishing crisp with lingering citrus and a floral echo.

The Story

George Skouras founded his eponymous domaine in 1986, planting vineyards at over 650 meters elevation on the Mantinia plateau of the Peloponnese, where cool nights preserve the Moscofilero grape's signature aromatics and snapping acidity.
