Ocho Añejo Tequila

Tequila Ocho · Destilería La Alteña (NOM 1474)

80 proof1 YearJalisco, Mexico
Ocho Añejo demonstrates that a single year in barrel, when executed with care, can enhance agave rather than obscure it. The vintage and single-estate approach means each release carries a sense of place. This is añejo for people who actually like tequila.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Cooked agave remains at the forefront, joined by caramel, vanilla, and a gentle oakiness. Hints of cinnamon and dried fruit emerge with time in the glass.

Palate

Balanced and expressive, with butter and honey coating the palate before shifting to toasted oak and a peppery spice. The terroir-driven agave character persists beautifully through the oak influence, with notes of cooked pear and a faint minerality.

Finish

Medium-long, with oak and caramel slowly giving way to a clean, slightly herbaceous agave note.
