Benromach Cask Strength Vintage 2012
Benromach · Benromach Distillery
Benromach's cask strength vintages are consistently excellent value, and the 2012 is no exception. The distillery's signature gentle peat adds complexity without domination, and the high proof delivers texture rather than heat. A well-rounded Speyside with a backbone.
Nose
Warm honey and toasted malt, with a gentle wisp of smoke underneath. Orange peel and dried apricot add brightness, while a hint of clove spice drifts in behind.
Palate
Dense and chewy, with butterscotch and cocoa joining the malt backbone. A restrained smokiness weaves through the midpalate, meeting peach and vanilla notes. Water opens up more floral, rosewater-like qualities.
Finish
Medium-long, with smoky malt, earthy undertones, and a trailing sweetness of dried fruit.

Jura 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Jura
Jura 10 is an island malt that sidesteps the peat-bomb stereotype entirely. Its restraint is its strength — a whisky shaped by geography rather than process, tasting of the rain and wind that batter its remote island home. Ideal as a gateway to island Scotch.

Noah's Mill Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey
Noah's Mill
Noah's Mill is barrel-proof bourbon without apology. Its intensity rewards patience — a splash of water opens the caramel and softens the leather into something rich and contemplative. A serious sipper for those who want their bourbon to push back.

Crossbill Highland Dry Gin
Crossbill
Crossbill is a gin that refuses to compromise on juniper. Using only Scottish juniper berries and rosehip, it delivers one of the most juniper-forward profiles available — a gin built for G&T purists and Martini devotees who want the pine to sing. It tastes like the Scottish Highlands in a glass.

Rhum Clément Select Barrel Rhum Agricole
Clément
Clément Select Barrel is an excellent entry point into aged agricole rhum. The barrel aging tames the raw grassy intensity without erasing it, creating a spirit that bridges the gap between agricole purists and aged rum lovers. At its price, it's one of the best values in the category.

Glen Moray 12 Year Old Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Glen Moray
Glen Moray has long been Speyside's overlooked neighbor, producing reliably excellent whisky at prices that make collectors look twice. This 12-year-old is the backbone of the range — a Speyside archetype with enough depth to reward close attention.

Glengoyne 12 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Glengoyne
Glengoyne's unhurried distillation — the slowest in Scotland — yields a malt of uncommon refinement for its age. The 12 Year Old is a benchmark for what sherry-matured Highland whisky should taste like without peat or smoke to lean on. Pure malt character at an accessible price.

Talisker Port Ruighe Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Talisker
Port Ruighe demonstrates that Talisker's maritime intensity can absorb cask influence without losing identity. The port finish adds a layer of dried fruit richness that plays beautifully against the distillery's peaty, coastal DNA. It rewards drinkers who appreciate smoke with substance.
