Clairin Communal Le Rocher

Clairin · Distillerie Le Rocher

93.4 proofNASPignon, Haiti
Clairin Le Rocher is fermented with wild yeast, distilled from fresh sugarcane juice on rudimentary equipment, and bottled without adjustment. The result is one of the most expressive unaged cane spirits in the world. It's raw, complex, and utterly unlike anything from the industrial rum world—a direct transmission of terroir.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Intensely aromatic, with overripe tropical fruits—mango, guava, and pineapple—leading the charge. Beneath the fruit, a grassy, almost agricultural funk emerges, along with a distinct citrus brightness. There's a yeasty, bready quality that signals wild fermentation.

Palate

Vibrant and full of energy. The tropical fruit character translates directly to the palate, joined by sugarcane freshness and a mineral backbone. Mid-palate brings molasses sweetness tempered by a vegetal, agricole-like bite.

Finish

Long for an unaged spirit, with lingering tropical fruit and a clean, slightly funky close. The minerality persists.

Worthy Park Overproof Jamaica Rum

Worthy Park

Worthy Park's overproof is Jamaican rum in its most uncompromising form — high-ester, high-proof, and packed with the kind of flavor that transforms any cocktail it touches. It's not meant for timid sipping, but for bartenders and rum enthusiasts who want authentic pot-still character at a remarkable price. Essential for any serious home bar.

Rum Fire White Overproof Jamaican Rum

Hampden Estate

Rum Fire is the distilled essence of Jamaican rum tradition — unaged, unfiltered, and unapologetic at 63% ABV. It's a bottle that divides opinion and that's exactly the point. For cocktail enthusiasts, even a half-ounce float transforms a Daiquiri. For sipping, it's a masterclass in what high-ester fermentation can produce. Rough-edged genius.

Ron Zacapa Edición Negra

Ron Zacapa

Edición Negra takes Zacapa's high-altitude solera system and pushes it toward heavier charred casks, producing a darker, more brooding rum than its siblings. The result is a spirit that trades some of the Centenario 23's honeyed charm for genuine complexity and a savory edge. Whether you sip it neat or pair it with a robust dessert, this is rum built for contemplation.

Real McCoy 5 Year Old Barbados Rum

The Real McCoy

The Real McCoy 5 Year is a benchmark for what additive-free aged rum can be at an entry price. Distilled at Foursquare but branded and bottled by Bailey Pryor's estate, it prioritizes transparency and craft over flash. It's versatile enough for cocktails and honest enough for sipping — a rare combination at this price.
