Tinkerman's Curiously Bright Gin

Tinkerman's · Philadelphia Distilling

84 proofNASPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
Tinkerman's channels the same Philadelphia Distilling lineage that produced Bluecoat but aims for an even more citrus-driven profile. The threshold lives in the juniper — present enough to call it gin, bright enough to feel like something new. An excellent warm-weather gin that works beautifully in a Collins or a simple tonic serve.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Juniper leads but quickly pivots into bright grapefruit peel and lemon zest. Underneath, coriander seed provides a gentle spiced warmth, and a faint lavender note adds an aromatic lift.

Palate

Crisp and citrus-forward, with grapefruit and lemon dominating the early palate. Mid-palate introduces a herbaceous juniper character alongside peppery spice. The texture is lean and precise.

Finish

Clean and brisk, with lingering grapefruit pith and a whisper of angelica root.

Fishtown Collins — 2 oz Tinkerman's Gin · 1 oz fresh lemon juice · 0.75 oz simple syrup · Club soda · Build over ice in a Collins glass, top with soda, garnish with a grapefruit wheel.

Food Pairing

The gin's grapefruit and herbaceous notes echo the citrus vinaigrette while the juniper's piney edge complements the char on the shrimp.

The Story

Crafted at Philadelphia Distilling — the city's first post-Prohibition distillery — Tinkerman's was designed by their spirits team as a brighter, more citrus-driven counterpart to their flagship Bluecoat Gin.
