A cerebral, textural gin that whispers where others shout. Genevieve rewards patient sippers and reshapes classic cocktails with malty gravity.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Warm malted grain leads—doughy wheat, cracked barley, a whisper of rye spice—laced with lifted juniper, coriander seed, and a soft citrus oil note that hovers rather than announces.

Palate

Full and silken, closer to unaged whiskey than gin: bread crust, barley sugar, oily juniper resin, cardamom, dried angelica root, and a subtle peppery lift. Weight without weightiness, complexity without clamor.

Finish

Long, cereal-driven, and quietly herbaceous—juniper pine and licorice root fade into a warm grainy hush.

The Quiet Holland — 2 oz Genevieve, 0.75 oz Cocchi Vermouth di Torino, 1 barspoon Bénédictine, 2 dashes orange bitters. Stir over ice for 30 seconds, strain into a chilled coupe, express a lemon peel and discard.

Food Pairing

Roasted quail with juniper jus and celery root purée, or aged Comté with dark rye and honeycomb.

The Story

Created by Anchor's late master distiller Bruce Joseph as a nod to the malt-wine genevers that predated London Dry, Genevieve is distilled from a mash of wheat, barley, and rye and redistilled with the same botanicals as Junípero—a quiet historical bridge in a bottle.
