Sitting at the foot of the Ochil Hills and drawing water from the Danny Burn, Tullibardine distillery in Blackford has been making whisky on the same site since 1949, though the area's brewing heritage stretches back to the twelfth century.

Pair with: The nutty, crystalline sweetness of aged Comté echoes the hazelnut and butterscotch in the whisky, while raw honeycomb reinforces the honey note without competing.
Irish Whiskey Powers Signature Release Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey
Once the largest whiskey brand in Ireland, Powers was born in John's Lane, Dublin, in 1791, and today its Signature Release honors that pot still heritage from the vast copper stills at Midleton in County Cork.

Tequila Partida Añejo
Founded in 2005 by Sophie Decobecq, a French chemical engineer who fell for the agaves of Amatitán, Partida draws exclusively from mature estate-grown plants and ages in ex-Jack Daniel's American oak — a quiet, exacting operation that has earned cult status among tequila obsessives.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering vanilla, toasted oak, and a final flicker of grapefruit zest and white pepper that keeps it from ever feeling syrupy.
Cocktail — The Amatitán Old Fashioned — 2 oz Partida Añejo, 1 barspoon agave nectar, 2 dashes Angostura bitters, 1 dash orange bitters. Stir with ice for 30 seconds and strain over a large cube in a rocks glass. Express an orange peel over the top and drop it in.
Pair with: Grilled duck breast with a mole negro reduction, or a wedge of aged Manchego drizzled with dark honey and toasted almonds.

Gin Applewood Gin
In the Adelaide Hills of South Australia, Brendan and Laura Carter built Applewood Distillery around the idea of distilling place — foraging over twenty native botanicals from across the continent to make a gin that could only exist in Australia.

Rum Habitation Velier Worthy Park 2007 Single Cask
Italian bottler Luca Gargano of Velier has built a decades-long partnership with Worthy Park Estate in Jamaica's Lluidas Vale, selecting single casks that showcase the distillery's high-ester pot still character at natural strength.

Finish: Very long, with persistent tobacco, leather, and a final echo of orange peel. The oak tannins provide a drying close that keeps you reaching for another sip.

Red Wine Domaine de la Mordorée Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 2021
In the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the Delorme family's Domaine de la Mordorée farms old-vine Grenache on sun-baked galets roulés — the famous rounded stones that store daytime heat and release it through cool Mistral nights.

White Wine Domaine des Roches Neuves Saumur Blanc Clos Romans 2023
Spanish-born Thierry Germain arrived in the Loire Valley in 1991 and gradually converted Domaine des Roches Neuves to biodynamics, coaxing Chenin Blanc from ancient tuffeau limestone parcels into wines of extraordinary mineral purity.
